Galilean Pastors would like
to introduce to you, Heart of the City Ministries. Heart of the
City Ministries attempts to break down racial and denominational
barriers by bringing together believers of Christ in one place for one
purpose--to worship God. This is a time of corporate praise and
worship, bringing glory to God with one voice, starting from the heart,
working it’s way out in speaking, singing, clapping and dancing before
the King of Kings. A place to kneel, set, stand or lay prostrate,
taking focus off our surroundings and putting it upon the one who
deserves our praise.
Each month, Heart of the City Ministries hosts a Worship Celebration in
Minneapolis or St. Paul, Minnesota, with the desire to celebrate,
giving glory to God through praise and worship, song and prayer.
They encourage families, singles, young and old, as well as every
ethnic group and every denomination to unite in lifting up one voice to
the one true living God; laying aside the color of one’s skin or
doctrinal differences that so often divide.*
The Worship Celebrations are led by Dan and Sandy Adler along with an
interracial group called the Heart of the City Worship Band. The band
is made up of vocalists and instrumentalists whose members are from
various races and countries of origin as well as a cross-section of
churches and denominations. Time is spent worshiping the Lord as
one body with one voice. This is a time of community worship not
a concert.
Time is also taken during the evening for an urban pastor to share
about his/her congregation, what God has called them to and what they
are up against. Everyone is then encouraged to gather into small
groups praying specifically over that pastor and church. We
continue praying for other churches as well as the lost in that city
and the surrounding communities. The pastor is then blessed with
a financial gift and a covering of prayer.
The Worship Celebrations are designed to bring lasting awareness to
what God has intended worship to be. The band themselves stress
the importance of taking the focus off them and placing it on the one
who deserves it.
The Heart of the City Worship Band also ministers in individual
churches and at events sponsored by other ministries both locally and
nationally. If you would like to experience a Worship Celebration
we encourage you to visit their site event calendar.
Another way to experience the worship this group encourages is through
a Worship Renewal Weekend. Heart of the City Ministries holds
Worship Renewal Weekends in individual congregations across the country
that involve worship seminars, worship concerts and Sunday morning
services focused on worship renewal.

*Dan Adler, the founder of Heart of the City Ministries desires to tear
down the doctrines of men while upholding those of God.
“The challenge I always see before me in my prayer to ‘tear down the
doctrines of men’ is to truly understand what those are versus the
‘doctrines of God’. I know that truth matters. I hear the
Bible clearly calling us to ‘rightly divide the Word of Truth.’
So in some ways, to just believe in Jesus, is too simplistic.” James
2:19 “There needs to be core beliefs about God, who Jesus is and
what He's done, and the way of salvation that we can find agreement
on. But the multitudes of levels of disagreement on smaller areas
of doctrine are just enormous and just cannot be of God. So while
I'm not going to be one to say that it doesn't matter what you believe
as long as you believe in Jesus, my prayer is that God will take away
the blinders on all of us so that we can come to an actual place of
real agreement in Biblical truth. That will take a miracle and
that's what I'm praying for.”
